5 out of 5 stars My Son loves this game   August 2, 2010
Mr. Naresh Patel (London)
I bought this game for my son (7) and he has been playing with it for the last 2 weeks without getting bored. I've been told by my son that there is the concept of the characters evolving which also helps keep him interested. The whole concept is great as the characters are superimposed on the image from the camera. The addition bonus of the camera allows the PSP to take video and pictures.I would definitely recomend this game.

4 out of 5 stars Remarkable, but a note of caution   July 31, 2010
nemo (UK)
This game is remarkable. The augmented reality is rock solid - moving the camera around the animals doesn't produce any lag, they really look like they are there. The combat is simple enough but not simplistic. In all, a really interesting PSP game.

My note of caution concerns the camera. If you are a cheapskate like me, you'll have held off getting the stand-alone PSP-300 camera (the silver one), as this package - Invizimals with camera - seems a much better deal. Sadly, it isn't.

This pack does not include the same camera. Invizimals comes with the black PSP-450 camera. The difference isn't just cosmetic - the PSP-300 is better. The PSP can use either camera without any additional software, straight from the XMB. Both cameras can shoot video up to 480x272@30fps.

The problem comes when shooting stills - the silver PSP-300 camera is 1.3 megapixels, or up to 1280x960 pixels. The black PSP-450 that comes with Invizimals can only do 0.3 megapixels or 640x480 - one quarter of the PSP-300! Now 1.3 megapixels is hardly impressive these days, but it's a decent enough toy camera. The PSP-450 however is next to useless for stills.

In conclusion, if you're interested in using the PSP to take still photographs, do not get Invizimals with an included camera - get the PSP-300 Sony Go! Cam (PSP) separately, and the stand-alone Invizimals Invizimals (PSP).

3 out of 5 stars Not fantastic!!!   May 15, 2010

I saw the adverts and thought this game would be fantastic to the point that i was excited about having a go myself, i couldn't wait for my step son to open the present that we had bought but when i had to go through it to show him how to play it, i was very dissapointed - i think that i had far too many high expectations for this game as i found the tutorials at the beginning were far too long winded and bored me very quickly and i was unable to skip them.

The graphics are good and the idea behind it is good and i found running around the house fun but sometimes the colours that they want you to find (especially yellow) were difficult to find and even when i found something yellow the camera found it hard to detect even though i was looking directly at it. I thought the game would be a lot more fun judging by the adverts. The fighting at first was ok but got a bit tedious after a few fights and would probably be better with a bit more free play or something to keep the kiddies a lot more entertained for longer. Can't see this entertaining my step-son for long.

Hope this is useful for other peeps wanting to buy this - personally glad i didn't pay more than £10.00 for it as would have been dissapointed but all in all i wouldn't recommend buying it at all.
