Product Description
Konami has announced that Liverpool FC and Spanish international striker Fernando Torres is to join Lionel Messi as the cover stars of PES 2010! Torres, 25, has enjoyed an incredibly successful season both at club and international level, and will now join UEFA Champions League winner Messi on the front of PES 2010's packaging. Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 Game - Enhanced Realism: PES 2010 delivers a pace of game in tune with football played at the highest level. Triangulation of passes and use of off-the-ball runs are key to breaking down the opposition, forcing the player to use the strengths of their team mates to create scoring opportunities. Gone are 'soft' goals that can be used to break the deadlock - instead, only working the channels and the precision play expected of great players will make a difference.
- Player Characteristics: Key skills of the many players have now been attributed named, allowing users to incorporate them into their play strategy. Cover star Torres, for instance, is renowned for his ability to receive a pass in the penalty area, and to drop the ball to a teammate in a good position for a goal-scoring opportunity. As such, he is labeled a "Fox In The Box" and "Goal Poacher", in line with his prowess in both scoring and setting up goals.
- Instant Tactical Switching: Each team has unique settings matching their real-life playing styles. Torres at Liverpool, for instance, will recreate the Merseyside club's sophisticated play and high numbers in attack, their pressing from midfield, strong defensive line, and width across the pitch. For the offense, the default settings support wide attacks and the aim to move in the back of the opponent's defense line. The user can summon the bar instantly during a match to adjust team tactics to enhance their defence or strengthen attacks.
- Master League: The Master League now incorporates

| Customer Reviews: Disappointed PES fan April 26, 2010 Mr. David J. Deane (London) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you see my reviews you will see I have also reviewed this for the PS3, which was not overly complimentary. However, since then I have come to terms with the PS3 version and have accepted it's limitations and learnt to play it and would still say it is better than Fifa.
Unfortunately I can not do the same with the PSP version. Poor game play to the extent that I would say it is no different to 2008 and maybe worse. I have always felt that this version does lack the R2 button and it has never been more apparent than here when trying to take players on. It also lacks any sensible AI such as players moving off the ball (if you have played the PS3 version you may notice the players running to get on the end of crosses and moving forward especially with the use of that R2 button again).
Further more the one redeeming thing I expected about this game was the Master League. I was wide of mark here. The format is the same as previous versions rather than this new style with a youth team and starting with the squad. However, good luck trying to sign anyone who is any good when you start!
I don't want to ramble on but I would strongly recommended avoiding this game. If you really want PES on the PSP get an older cheaper version!
Complete waste of money. March 30, 2010 JobyJak (Leamington Spa, UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The multiplayer online option has been removed completely and there is no difference in game play from 2009.
Its obvious that Konami have given up on the PSP and this latest installment proves it.
My advice? Buy 2009 instead for less than a tenner and update the squads yourself.
An (almost perfect) Football Game for the PSP December 2, 2009 Sj1 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
First of all let me start by saying i used to be a big fan of PES but haven't bought any PES games in the last couple of years. I don't own the PS3 or XBox360 so i decided to try PES 10 on the psp. I'll go through it's postives and negatives.
NEGATIVES first:
There is only one major one really
- Scoring goals from headers is REALLY hard. This includes crosses, corners and free kicks which require you to put the ball into the box. This is a bit of a pain. The players often seem to head the ball wide, alot of times, just by a few inches.(this might be a bug i don't know). This means you have to keep the ball down on the ground more often and this takes some enjoyment out of the game. the small positive here is that it's the same for the AI teams aswell.
Other small annoyances: there is only 1 stadium in the whole game; there are no match highlights after a game- Now that it's missing I realise how great this feature was.( but you can still save your goals etc). But these things are because PSP's limitations as a handheld console and there's not too much that can be done about it.
Also, you should know this game has no online mode.
Positives:
-The game play is Fantastic! like it used to be. The movement of players and the flow of the game is very smooth(a little Fifa like). The graphics are good considering it is a PSP game. They look similar to the old PES 6 graphics( on the consoles).
- Become a Legend mode- This is where you play as a young newcomer. You start at the lowest level and try to impress scouts of bigger clubs. I really like this mode and find it's better than fifa's Be a pro mode. It is more challenging and realistic.
- club profiles, player profiles and stats are updated( as you'd expect).
-Master league is back and as ever it's solid- it now incorporates UEFA Champions league( but it's just the same as the old European Cup)
Overall, this is a very good game. I'd defintelely recommend it if you're looking for a football game on the PSP. If scoring headers weren't so damn hard, I'd give a 5 but, even then it's still a strong 4/5.
