Product Description
Assassin's Creed Bloodlines is the first Assassin's Creed game on the PSP. It follows the story of Altair right after the events of Assassin's Creed as Altair tracks down the last Templars who fled the Holy Land and retreated to the Island of Cyprus.

3 out of 5 stars OK but not sure if this works on the PSP really....   March 9, 2010

I'm a big fan of the AC series....just finished AC2 on the PS3....

This game is Ok and it kept me playing but it has good and bad points....

Good:
Obviously can play for 15 mins or so as a PSP game.
Continues the story and develops the character of Altair well.
Upgrade system for weapons etc is a good addition.

Bad:
Controls are nowhere near as smooth as on the PS3 versions. This results in your fingers hurting a lot and also missing a lot of counterstikes in fights.
The camera control is poor.
Because of the limits of the PSP system the locations are not as exotic with as many people as the PS3 versions....this results in you just following the missions with no desire to explore anything else like viewpoints much...
Its short....only about 6 hours gameplay.
The boss fights are pretty easy....I won't spoil it, but you can recover your "health" quite esily by using a certain tactic during the fighting.

All in all, I think its a good game for fans of AC fans only, especially if you can get over the stripped down PSP graphics as opposed to the lush environments on hte PS3, but there are other titles on the PSP that non AC fans should buy, like GOW chains of Olympus....cheaper too....

4 out of 5 stars bloodlines of the assassins creed   March 4, 2010

Assassins Creed Bloodlines is a nice addition to the series, and is nicely representative of what an assassins creed game would have been like if it had arrived a console generation earlier. The games visuals aren't quite as aesthetic as its PSP peers such as Prince of Persia Revelations or Rival Swords, but its good to see that the climbing mechanics and animations still work perfectly. At times gameplay feels smoother than the original, though the world is less open, this has the advantage of stream lining the experience, but has the disadvantage of making levels quick and easy for skilled assassins. An interesting feature of the game is that the main hit contracts are more like end of level boss fights, and require some tactical fighting using Altairs techniques, these can often prove to be be the most differcult and frustrating parts of the game, and will likely be a very affecting factor for fans to consider when purchasing. Assassins Creed Bloodlines mission structure leans more towards that of Assassins Creed 2, with less focus on investigation that the first game had, and its story ties very nicely into the series for those who want a little added depth. The main gripe about the gameplay is camera, which can be a little tricky to master, but shouldn't be that much of problem if you're an avid PSP gamer. I nice bonus of the game is it's connectivity with Assassins Creed 2 (PS3), giving you i nice set of perks for both games when used in connection.

4 out of 5 stars Only little flaws   February 3, 2010
I haven't played the first assassins creed, although I did get the 2nd one recently, despite this I wasn't really mistified by the whole story line and although I didn't understand it fully I still understood most of it although its continuing from the 1st one. The game looks very good and they have done very well to get it all on the psp with out it being pixilated. When you do the missions you could say there a little repetative but this is a handheld game that you just ment to pick up and play for 15 minutes so that didn't bother me, but it didn't take long to complete. The sondtrack in this game is good but it can get VERY repetitve which is a bit annying but you'll be able to live with it. Now then the bad things, this game manly feels very rushed. There are a lot of little things like cutscenes when they repeate the start of the sentence twice and some of the charcater faces just look really bad, sometimes you cant move when you're at a certain angle which you think you should be able to move at. There are quite a few of glitches like I recently found and invisible wall, sometimes people just run into walls (its quit funny),when you at a high point you dont see coins (you find this throughout the game) or guards until you get closer which again is quite small and like all of these wont annoy you to much. Despite the falts I really enjoyed this game and found it fun ,although it feels very rushed, the story lines good, the soundtrack is good, the presentation is very good and I think you should buy this especially if you played the 1st one as I think you might want to know what happens to the apple of eden.

3 out of 5 stars Cyprus, eh?   January 2, 2010

I loved Assassins Creed and the sequel which was epic, but Assassins Creed: Bloodlines doesn't compare to them. It is quite fun but the colour scheme doesn't look at all as good as Assassins Creed 2, and not like Cyprus at all, it is to plain and grey and looks ugly. The game play is simple, except the awful camera system, and the fact you can't control Altair with the d-pad is annoying, especially as I lost the analogue stick. But its not that bad, its quite long for a PSP game and it a great new upgrade system. Overall, its not a must buy, but it is a must have for Assassins Creed fans as explains what happened after the first game.

The game was overall a good game. I believe it would be better on the PS3 but what was given on the PSP was very good indeed.
