Garbage July 14, 2010 Ms. Ak Kortleven (Kettering, Northamptonshire, UK) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is garbage. I thought I was renting a good beat 'em up, as it was marketed that way, but instead I get this lame excuse for a game. This one is definitely for fanboys and serious FF fans only. If you're like me and waver with the FF franchise, then this isn't for you. The game has nice graphics and overly long cutscenes (yeah, I was like, When is this gonna end?) and very boring and repetitive gameplay. I'd rather have played The Last Remnant than this, and people complained about that. Do yourself a favour and don't buy this game. It's utter trash. If you do, you'll just be wasting your pennies.

Final fantasy might not seem like obvious material for a fighting game but this still doesn't stop this game from being one of the best on the system. With great graphics, brilliant sweeping final fantasy scores and a story - that although lacking - does make sense and gives a valid reason for why your there. As a side note I would recommend this to anyone who has played a final fantasy games as it makes a lot of references especially to the old ff games.
Boring and repetitive February 11, 2010 RecklessSpirit (UK) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have played, completed and loved FFVII to XII + Crisis Core spending hundreds of hours on each and just not being able to get enough of each game. This is the first final fantasy I just haven't been able to get on with - the "chessboard" is really boring and I really struggled to carry on playing and collect each crystal for each character. I had thought that maybe after this the main game would get better, but this has not been the case.
I have played this for about 20/30 hours now and it really isn't enjoyable but I do not want to "leave a final fantasy uncompleted." You wander along chess boards bumping into pieces which you then fight and get to the end to complete the level over-and-over again. I have picked up "Final Fantasy Revenant Wings" now on the DS which I am enjoying and I think I am just going to give up on Dissida now. I have tried both battle systems, but unfortunately this game just has no spark for me at all.
