Product Description

PES 2009 is the latest installment of the award-winning Pro Evolution Soccer Series, which is known by millions of fans for its superior gameplay and incredible realism. For PES 2009, Konami is already planning a raft of extensive new additions that will further bridge the gap between PES and the real thing. The new game has undergone a stunning graphical update to ensure its players look and move even more like their real-life counterparts. Similarly, all-new options allow users to tailor the game to their own tastes, while new moves, innovative new control elements and key online elements will further the realism of the new game.

  • New player models, AI elements and physics routines
  • 'Become a Legend' mode - Start your career as a rookie midfielder or striker and work your way through the ranks to become a pro. Play in your favourite attacking position and work as part of a team, as opposed to controlling every player.
  • 'Legends' online mode - Use your saved 'Become a Legend' player in online matches with like-minded friends, and show off your skills on the larger online stage.
  • Redefined intricacies of first touch, close control and ball distribution
  • Enhanced shooting and AI mechanisms
  • The new control system makes full use the D-Pad and analogue stick to perform contextual tricks and feints within the players run.
  • Weather, air resistance and ground friction all have an affect on the balls motion - alter your play to match the conditions just like in real-life.
  • Teamvision AI has been extended allowing computer controlled team mates to adapt their tactics more realistically.
  • A reworked Master League means a players' loyalty and mood now affects their performance on the pitch.
  • Enhanced realism through aesthetic updates, including stadium environments and atmosphere.
  • Improved depth of field thr

5 out of 5 stars Super PES   February 26, 2009

Have played FIFA 2008 on PS2 which I found hard to master. So I bought PES 2009 with a little trepidation, but it is ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC! Easy to play, great levels, customise it to your hearts content; alter the camera angle, ball colour (not sure how useful that is!) etc. And I love the fact that you can play in the first person where you can play in the game as much as you like. Love the game

5 out of 5 stars Impressive   February 17, 2009

This is the best football game available for the PSP. The gameplay is very impressive and it transfers well from the normal console. Good graphics and lots of fun- no 2 goals look the same!

Amazed at the quality and features this game has, never really enjoyed playing computer games but this is so involving and more than an arcade game.

3 out of 5 stars Pro Evo good but crashes   January 18, 2009

I love Pro Evo and have played many earlier versions on various machines and this a good step in the Pro Evo series evolution. The game play is great as always but there are some problems to be fixed. In master league mode, sometimes after you make substitutions the players change back to those you took off. This can be really frustrating but not as bad as when it crashes (it just stops and restarting the PSP is the only option) after a 3 -0 win.

5 out of 5 stars brilliant   January 2, 2009

this game is proably the best psp football game that you can get. the main modes are match, become a legend, master legue and world tour modes.
you can also go training which is a mode that you might not get on fifa.

good points:
training
become a legend mode
realistic
not to difficult and not to hard
graphics are good

bad points:
man. u and liverpool are the only premiership teams with the right name and right kit.[ like arsenal are called north london]
as far as i am and i am probaly wrong that there is only one stadium
and thats about it

on become a legend mode, you create your own player who can play in strike or midfield, and at the start you play a match between two clubs who are in a low legue and at the end of that match you will get a choice of some teams who you want to play for and you carry on your career like that. but the brilliant point is that the camrea is actually like you are looking through that players eyes

10/10 and if you like football, buy it
