I'll make this quick, maybe even 30 seconds. Half Minute Hero is pretty good, it's probably worth buying, and worth every penny.

Half Minute Hero is a fun and innovative game for the PSP in which you play as a variety of characters who for various reasons only have 30 seconds, or half a minute, in order to complete their quests. The game is split into several different modes, with three being available from the starts.
Graphics wise, the game is as it should be, with a visual style harking back to the old 8 and 16 bit RPGs of years past. Tastefully done, the graphics really do complement the whole style of the game. The sound also fits in to the manic and humorous style and really makes you feel like it's a rush to save the world.
The gameplay is much too large and varied to give a detailed analysis of, so the three main modes available from the start of the game are outlined below, to give you an idea of what to expect.
Hero mode is the main mode for the game, and is the biggest and best thought out, you play as Hero, and with the help of the Time Goddess you must save the world from destruction in 30 seconds, by defeating a different Evil Lord in a variety of locations reminiscent of old RPGs. Along the way you can complete quests, work to the time limit, collect weapons and equipment and sometimes take different paths according to the actions that you take. All in all, it's a very fun game and surprisingly expansive.
Evil Lord mode is not quite as polished as the Hero mode, but it is still a lot of fun and provides a nice side-story complimenting the Hero story. You play as an Evil Lord that you meet in the Hero mode, and have to summon monsters to beat enemies in a rock-paper-scissors type or advantage system. You still only have 30 seconds in this mode also, but there is the Time Goddess to help here too, for a price.
Princess mode I found was the least fun personally, as it was just a basic 2D side scrolling shooter. However, there may be those who prefer this sort of game. In this mode you play as the princess and her army, and have to complete certain objectives in 30 seconds, again with the help of the Time Goddess.
The game has lots of replayability as you try to get all of the equipment, the different routes through the game and all of the time attacks, so it's definitely worth a look in.

Half Minute Hero on the PSP is an RPG in the style of the old 8 bit adventures, such as Final Fantasy and Zelda. The aim of the game is to level up and beat the bosses spread across the various areas. The twist, as you might have guessed, is that you have 30 seconds to do this.
Now, this isn't quite as restrictive as it sounds at first, as you can reset the clock when visting towns. However, to do so you must pay money, which you earn when fighting monsters (in random battles, which are automatic). The cost of a time reset increases each time, so there's a definite strategy element to the game.
As you fight the various enemies your character levels up, until you get a message telling you that your level is higher than the boss. Then it's time to go to their castle and duff them up.
What with this being an RPG, there are oodles of treasures to find, and two side quests for each mission. It's incredibly deep considering the format of the game. Also worth a mention is the humour in the game, especially the bosses, who usual spout tongue in cheek phrases as theur final words.
This should appeal to RPG fans, especially those who don't have the time to sink 20+ hours into a game anymore. You can blast your way through a level on HMH in a couple of minutes, so it's ideal for a portable device. However, chances are you'll keep returning to it to find more treasure and complete the sidequests.
There are three other games included on the disc, all of which tie into the same universe. Really, they're not a patch on the title game, but they're varied enough to provide some entertainment.
