What I wanted and expected from a PSP version March 16, 2010

This is a reasonably deep turn-based strategy game based on the PS3 game of the same name (minus the 'Legends' subtitle). In essence, it is a collectable card game (like Magic the Gathering) that uses virtual cards. The main attraction for me, as a very casual player of the PS3 version, is that I can collect all (or at least a high percentage) of the cards just by playing the game (and, potentially, by trading with players over the network). Another appealing aspect is that there is no board, camera, and lighting to set up.
Upon starting the single player game, you are given the choice of one of several pre-made theme decks (a beginner's deck, and one based around each of the elements: fire, water, etc.) I've played about 5 matches of the campaign so far, and found the starting difficulty to be about right. I have read, however, that there are annoying spikes in the difficulty later on, and that the AI is inconsistent. Multiplayer matches with friends may be played through an ad-hoc connection, but the infrastructure mode appears only to support random ranked matches. I like the interface and presentation, and have found it easy to get information about cards and the state of play whenever I have needed it.
The tutorial is short and not at all sufficient to teach the rudiments of the gameplay. I recommend reading up on the rules of the game beforehand to avoid frustration.
