Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell: Few kids films can be as well suited to video game immortalisation as Cars and just for once a movie license-in hasn’t just been used for a cheap cash-in. Think Ridge Racer, Jr. and there’s plenty to enjoy here for both adults and children. The lowdown: When you’ve got a movie populated solely by talking cars it at least means there’s no need to turn the game into yet another third person platformer. Instead you take the role of stock car Lightning McQueen in what is actually a sequel to the movie’s plot, as he works his way up the racing leagues. Whether there’s someone driving Lightning or not he still handles like any other arcade racer, complete with a handy powerslide. The artificial intelligence of the other cars can seem a bit too willing to let you win in the early stages but there are separate kids and adults modes to ensure all ages get a decent challenge. Most exciting moment: Although it’s not quite Grand Theft Auto the game features a surprisingly large game world for you to explore, with wide open canyons and towns filled with tons of side quests and mini-games to ignore or enjoy as you please. Since you ask: Almost the entire voicecast of the movie reprise their roles, recording original dialogue just for the game. This includes Owen Wilson and, in his first ever role in a video game, the legendary Paul Newman. The bottom line: One of the best movie tie-ins for a while and a decent little racer. HARRISON DENT

| Customer Reviews: Fantastic!!! June 18, 2010 Excellent game which kept the kids busy and occupied for hours and hours!! A must-get game for those parents wanting some peace and quiet in the house. ;)
Great fun for all ages! March 15, 2010 pinkwellies (Suffolk, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ah, a racing game that is plenty of fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. This is a gem of a title for the PSP, with plenty of different content to unlock, and a decent amount open to you as soon as you insert the shiny little UMD. If you've got Cars fans in the house, this is a fun and relatively inexpensive title these days, and well worth a look. It is also interesting enough to capture adults attention :-) The difficulty level is well pitched, and it looks pretty slick too. A great place to start if you've got a PSP and never tried a racing game, before you venture into the world of Need for Speed!!!
Cars for psp August 3, 2009 daybreak (england) I bought this game a few months ago and I still really enjoy it. This was my third game and as enjoying the ps2 version I bought this one and found it much more enjoyable. It has a much better plot instead of racing for no reason (ps2)and it has a better selection of cars to unlock and race.
But some of the let downs is that I finished this game in a day and that doesn't have very many paint jobs.
If you have the money I would buy this game!

Having enjoyed the film at the cinema.
I couldn't resist purchasing this video game when I had saved up for my PSP. I couldn't have been more delighted with this game - when I can actually win a race!
First of all, the graphics and visuals are stunning for a handheld. I haven't seen this game on any other console, but I am guessing it would be one of the best. There are different modes on this game, theres the Story Mode, where some street racers have come to town, and the only way they will leave is if you win them in a series of races. There are also the Grand Prix and Time Trail modes which are also very good. Although, I must admit this game can be a bit difficult once passed the first couple of races, resulting in me having to consult my older brother to give me a helping hand with this game. Fortunately he is very good at these things, and I managed to pass this level.
So, hopefully I shouldn't get stuck anymore on this game. The game is exciting, and relives the action and fun of the great movie, with 15 playable characters on this game. Load times are quick, and keys are responsive. Very high quality game. Thanks x
