Resistance : Retribution PSP July 16, 2010 johnrh20 James Grayson, a true war time hero, driven off the rails after his brother is bitten by a cloven. This game is basically the thoughts and feelings of a man driven by the slowly fading memory of his late brother. brilliant game, one of the best that I have ever played for PSP. The online is also very good, because hundreds of players are online daily, so it doesn't take long to find the right game for you. For Resistance's online I have finally found a use for my microphone on the front of my PSP, but if you don't have one playing is a real pain because you can't interact with the other players.
So overall this game gets 9/10 and my own personal horray!!!
amazing June 19, 2010 Mrs. Linda Brown OK I'll start with the bad thing and to be honest there aren't any!
Good things
Graphics are amazing
Game play is amazing
The controls are hard to learn but good when you know them
A MUST BUY!!!!!!!!!!
It's a portable PlayStation 3 game! April 4, 2010 Geo (London, England) If you've played or seen the Resistance games on PS3, you'll be so pleased to know that very little has been sacrificed in getting Resistance onto the PSP.
Resistance is a new franchise having only debuted with the launch of the PlayStation 3. Set in an alternative WWII era where earth is in the process of assimilation by an extremely hostile (and ugly) alien race, Resistance takes its cues from popular console shooters like Halo and Killzone, putting you in the shoes of a uber-solder tasked with saving humanity.
Resistance: Retribution benefits heavily from the innovations associated with such a new, but established formula, giving Retribution the essence of a miniature next-gen shooter. The production values are of a similar standard to a big xb360 game, with fantastic graphics, voice acting, and a music score to absolutely die for.
Although Retribution is a 3rd person shooter, it plays a lot like a 1st person shooter thanks to the innovative control scheme and bevvy of weapons at your disposal. Indeed, the weapons in R:R are another highlight, featuring a vast array of imaginative but deadly-satisfying ordinance which you can use to mercilessly destroy alien scum, including blasters that shoot through walls and a sniper rifle that slows down time.
The story mode is as long and deep as the PS3 games, while the Online Multiplayer is arguably the best available for a portable, again taking its cues heavily from the PS3 versions of Resistance. In fact the games are tied so heavily (R:R takes place between Resistance 1 & 2) that if you own a PS3 with a copy of Resistance 2, you can actually unlock additional content and even play R:R with the PS3 controller!
Retribution was lauded by many as the best PSP game of 2009, but it could easily make a case for itself as the best PSP game ever made. From the moment you begin playing it exudes a very high, top-of-the-pile quality which only increases with time, thus making Resistance: Retribution utterly unmissable.
Great game February 25, 2010 Carlos Cardoso (Portugal) Game buid for psp, nice helping controls for the small buttons of the psp
very good grafics
Good game with annoying controls January 28, 2010 S. Walker (Scotland) I only just bought this game as I have been on the fence about it ever since it was released thanks to the mixed reviews. But I only decided to buy it as my PS3 is broken and so far I think it's pretty good. It has quite a few things in common with Resistance 2, it has quite good graphics, very fun to use weapons, good online, it doesn't last forever but it is quite long, the voice acting is not bad and of course it has some huge boss battles and well that's all the good points.
The bad is that the controls are very fiddly, especially zooming in which can be frustrating sometimes, sometimes the voice acting can be bad and it can fell boring after a while as really your just running around shooting aliens over n over.
