If you’ve been concerned that the new generation of consoles has had relatively little in the way of new ideas, then LittleBigPlanet should be the game to restore you faith. It’s difficult to describe properly, which is a good thing, because it means it’s very different from the norm.

Played with friends it’s a great puzzle adventure, as you co-operate and compete across each level. The game’s trump card though is its customisation, not just the characters themselves but the whole game. It’s extremely easy to create your own levels, and the best fun is had simply setting up areas for mucking around and then sharing them online with other people. About the Developer: Media Molecule
After working on games such as Black & White and Fable, a group of ex-Lionhead Studios employees formed Media Molecule. The Guildford-based studio rose to frame through the independently produced Rag Doll Kung Fu, but their first retail game is LittleBigPlanet.

Got this game when it was 23.Ordered it on the thursday came friday morning. Great servise. Alot cheeper than Play.com.Great game, my son loves this game and he's better than me!!!! Thanks Amazon.

The only game you will play and be amazed at how simple concepts, are the most fun - the levels created will not only inspire you but when it comes to creating your own stage there is a wierd revelation that this is what has been missing. this is what every one and their mama has wanted to do since the birth of gaming which is create and share their game ideas.
the levels you can create are endless and you can download other levels created by other LBP players. They can also join in and you can have up to 4 players thrashing about on a level.
this game has everything ,charm, replayability, continous downloadable content, great graphics, funky music,intuitive controls
you can keep it simple and just collect and play the user created levels or mangle your brain and produce a level worthy of media molecule themselves. You may only be able to run, jump and grab but the design of some the levels is absolutely amazing.
trust me once you've started creating a level you will be thinking of devious new ways to improve your level throughout your working day. ESSENTIAL
WARNING THIS GAMES WILL NOT SUIT THOSE WITH NO IMAGINATION

The world has gone crazy for a little chap made of cloth in a game. Sackboy, the hero of Little Big Planet, is everywhere and people love him.
Little Big Planet is undoubtedly Sony's finest game on the Playstation 3 so far. It's not without its flaws, but these are overwhelmingly overshadowed by the fresh new ideas and the addictive user created gameplay.
At its most basic, Little Big Planet is a 2.5D Platform game. There is a lot of Jumping, Collecting, Avoiding, Lifting, plus Drops and slides and everything you'd expect from a side scrolling platform adventure. But even before you get to the user generated content the game works its magic.
Sackboy (or girl if you prefer) himself is delightful and fully customisable with clothes, hair and other odds and ends. The tutorials are all narrated by the genius that is Stephen Fry, doing his best Hitch-hikers Guide the Galaxy voice and full of dry wit as usual. The levels are full of suprises and designed so well that there will always be a reaction to any new monsters or scenery you come across. Even the spooky levels are cute, for goodness sake!
As I mentioned earlier, there are issues with the game engine. The jumping/moving between `layers' (ie into and out of the screen rather than left or right) is a bit fiddly at times and this does impede your progress on some levels. The scenery can get in the way at times and the 2.5D obstacles can prove annoying when you can't see the layers properly. But these are little things which you'll get used to.
Even if you don't fancy having a go at creating your own worlds (and why not?) the fun doesn't stop with the levels provided on the disc. Everybody who plays Little Big Planet and has an internet connection can upload their levels for everyone else to use. This means you'll have an endless supply of levels based on all sorts of wonderful ideas and new content. What's even better is that you can play co-operatively and some levels even reward you for this, giving you access to hard to reach areas.
When it comes to building your own world in Little Big Planet, Mr Fry's soothing voice makes a re-appearance to guide you through each of the tools and the methods for designing your creation. It may take a little while to get used to the tools, but give it an hour or so and you'll be busy making a new playroom for Sackboys and girls to play in. Post it online and you'll even get feedback while other players try your brand spanking new levels out.
It's quite difficult to describe the magic that Little Big Planet seems to exude in a review, you really do need to experience it to see just how cute, addictive and, well, different the game actually is. This will get everyone from your Granny to your little sister watching the screen in fascination, and yet it doesn't fall into the trap of being a Casual gamer's game.
Sony has a lot riding on its new game titles to sell the Playstation 3, but Little Big Planet and Sackboy may be the answer they need.
