extreme simulation extreme racing extreme fun!!! September 8, 2008 P. Bisseker (United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this game works fine on my pc, i have a quad core 2.4 2gig memory and radeon x1950 pro 512mb agp... i've only played this game on extreme simulation mode, i havent bothered basic or arcade, people on forums keep moaning and crying about how you cant use a steering wheel as the controller, it seems alot of people use game pads goto ebay, type in the search...thrustmaster free styler bike, if you are lucky you'll see a pair, there are two versions a pc version, and a ps2 version, they are dirt cheap, and work fully with sbk01 and sbk08 and all the very poor motogp games, (free styler bike) plug n play handle bars :) no software needed, works great with windows xp and vista...anolog throttle and front brake, power sliding in sbk08 is excellent fun, very hard with a gampad or a steering wheel, when i play a driving game i use a wheel, when i play a racing bike game i use handbars, get a pair, you wont be dispointed, i have two pairs, both cost me 25.00 each sbk08 is seriously good racing fun, mainly the reason for my review was just to tell people how good sbk08 is, and about free styler bike bars, put away your wheels and game pads, and get bars ;)
Can't write a proper review as I can't play the game properly! August 29, 2008 Mr. P. Tytler (Devon, UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well I held back from writing this thinking that with some dedicated effort I would be able to configure my controller and then have a chance to play the game properly. The only problem is, that I can't play the game properly. When I installed it first I had some serious problems configuring my controller, then discovered there was a patch available and installed that, only to discover that most of the high resolution display settings had vanished! I have tried and tried to configure my controller settings (I have a rumblepad 2, logitech wheel, and joystick) and I've had no end of problems. There is no way of knowing whether the settings configured are correct until starting the game, then you discover they are not, so you exit back to the controller settings, reprogramme them, back to the game, back to the..... This game is seriously bugged from day one, which is a shame as I really wanted this to work properly. Why is it that motorcycle games tend to be crap? The MotoGP game controller settings won't work in Vista, when is someone going to really get this right? If you're thinking of getting this don't bother until they issue a proper patch that makes it work as it should. Shame on you Blackbean! Your last Racing Challenge game was riddled with issues too!
Beware August 24, 2008 L. Willson 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game will not work on my PC even though it complies with all the recommendations on the box, I have the launcher.exe problem with no response from the game support site, unless there is some sort of support for this game or answers to this problem I would suggest keeping well away from it.
Seriously Flawed.... August 11, 2008 Mr. A. Adams (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game was released with some very serious bugs. The main one for me is that it produces a 'launcher.exe' error everytime after the opening credits etc, so haven't actually been able to play it. On 'googling' the problem, I am far from the only one with this issue. My PC should easily run this (XP SP2, Dual Core AMD 2.4GHz, 2Gb RAM, GeForce 8800GTS 640Mb). Have contacted Blackbean with as yet no response. Have downloaded patch with no difference. Will wait a short time for a new patch, otherwise Amazon can have it back!
Yep, a Good (but not Great) game August 7, 2008 Ron Hughes (Essex, UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Superb graphics. Realistic game play. Easy for beginners to get into. Damned difficult on the 'Pro' settings. Well-modelled tracks; realistic sound effects. Stunning rider-modelling in Playback. A wide selection (20+) of screen resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 Well worth the wait.
