Why bother making this game! June 7, 2008 Mr. N. Birtwistle (England) This game is total amateur! Rubbish modeling of cars!'But oh wait the cars using NOS to go super fast' no it isn't it looks like the cars slowing down the graphics are that bad. It makes the race seem really boring! Need for speed normally good but this game OH DEAR!
Not Bad ! April 29, 2008 Gary Digby The Good: There's a great selection of cars to choose from, Muscle (Dodge charger/ challenger, Shelby 500 and new concept 500) Super cars like your Lambs and Ford Gt and Even the Zonda to my surpise. The Graphics are relly good but the console cant keep up in places and it lags quite a bit. Maybe its Because the Fat PSP only has half the memory. Outside of the game, there's too much use of basic colours and doesnt look that great. Theres a good selection of Music on it as like most NFS games.
My Bads: Its not your normal meyham round the streets, its race track all the way. Some levels are quite fun but most are pretty dull. I dont get frustrated with games but with this i do, Alot. You go slightly off the road (onto the grass) and your speed reduces drasticly, and even when Powering NOS it still takes alot of speed off. Also, if you scrape a barrer on a corner, the car sticks to it and wont move off it unless using loads of breaking, resulting in your car damaged and traction pushes you to one side for the rest of the race. The damage is good because its more relistic, its bad because one slightly fast corner and you have to deal with the car for the rest of the rage. Some races take lots of attempts to complete, I must admit I do like a challenge but sometimes its too much.
Overall, A quite good game but If i had the choice to buy this or Carbon, I think id go with carbon. There is no story line in Pro Street, this doesnt bother me because i usaully dont care for the story and just wana play.
Not that great of a game... April 11, 2008 Nikolaos Giannakakis 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Need for Speed Pro Street may be a game with good graphics, however, it is very easy to lose interest in the game because there is no storyline. In relation to the older need for speed (Need for Speed: Underground 2), this game cannot even compare. So would NOT recommend it...
Very Nice... March 25, 2008 Mr. R. Thompson-Clarke (London, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been a follower of the Need for Speed series ever since Hot Pursuit. One after another they came out and impressed me with amazing graphics, challenging and fun gameplay, and new features to keep me looking forward to the next. This game was no exception.
Ever since I bought a PSP I have used it more and more and my other consoles less and less so it made sense to me to buy the new NFS on PSP. I loved it as soon as I started playing, it was challenging, fun and my first session was about 3 hours because I just couldn't put it down. The gameplay is constantly different depending on your place in the game, sometimes you will be racing for the highest speed and other times you'll be racing round a very twisty course just struggling to stay on the track. And there are different levels of difficulty allowing less experienced racers to get into the flow just as easily. The learning curve was however quite sharp to start with as only the first 3 races allowed you to use the lowest level of difficulty, this meant my little sister was stuck after the first level (she didn't like the game much anyway).
Graphics were excellent although at start of the races the screen seemed slightly blurry around the edges, this becomes less notciable however once you start concentrating on the race. The music was very good and it featured a wide range of genres to satisfy everybody. One problem I did have though was that even though there were lots of music tracks, there was one track that had amount 5 remixes and it kept playing more often than I would have liked, this however was easily fixed with just a fiddle of the settings.
Online play is my favourite part, you get to race somebody from anywhere in the world whenever you want seeing as there is always someone online.
Overall a very nice game and thouroughly enjoyable, it was just the one or two little things that stopped me from loving it as much as some of the previous games. I would reccomend this very strongly but just because you get this don't ignore some of the previous titles, they are just as good.
first time.. February 26, 2008 E. S. Oguzturun (London) 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
my girlfriend bought this game for me as a surprise on the day of release, she loves racing games and thought that this would be a nice game for my collection (so she could play it more like lol) anyways i must admit I was a tad upset that she didnt put her money into something a little more 'me', such as an rpg or shooter. anyway this game truely was a surprise for me, I actually avoided NFS games prior to this, and now I've found myself searching the internet for previous installments to the series lol.
the game is great to fly through off-line, and its up to you if you want to use one car or constantly upgrade and buy new cars, you can play the game how you wish. the tracks are cool and somewhat challenging (or maybe that's just my lack of skill). Where i've really enjoyed the game is online, with a huge variety of cars to choose from it really can be anyone's race!
in conclusion, this game is cool! maybe not for everyone (my little bro hated it) but deffinatly for me! if you enjoy racing games that you can pick up and play easily then check this out, i doubt you'll be dissapointed!
