4 out of 5 stars A Good Starting Point   November 29, 2007
James Chichester (Jedburgh)
I greatly enjoyed this game, a I think it is very underrated. It took me a while to get into, and I struggled to master the controls at first, but soon County Wexford were holding Sam aloft (If only).

I do understand some of the complaints, although considering this is the first in the series, and indeed the first Gaelic football Games ever, to my knowledge, so there was not even anything to use for reference, means that this is quite an achievement. I'm sure in the years to come the games will get much better.

1 out of 5 stars Patronising   March 10, 2006

This game is a real insult to the GAA fans who thought that this would be a great game. On a wider scale, it's an insult to Irish people who will buy this game in droves. I can't believe that a well-respected Irish site gave this game four stars out of five, it's one of the worst games I've ever played, let alone the worst sports simulation on the Playstation 2.

The game is like something from the 1980s. I played one game and just couldn't believe it. I'm a big fan of pro evolution soccer, and was hoping that this would be along these lines. I know it's a first try, and a couple of the reviews here say that we should buy it so a better one comes along next time. I don't believe that. I think the GAA have taken us for a ride here.

It's a poor game on so many levels, and realistic stadiums does not compensate for it. I mean, who looks at that? You want to be so hooked on the gameplay that it doesn't matter!

In short, a patronising game that I wouldn't recommend to anyone except someone I really wanted to mess with.

1 out of 5 stars Woeful   January 11, 2006

This game is the worst game I have ever played on any platform, in response to an earlier review, with all respect, pro evo 1 is at least 5 or 6 years old now, and we've moved on since then.
Graphics are rubbish, gameplay even worse, very slow and frustratingly annoying. Very dissapointed, first of all as a GAA fan and secondly as a gamer.

1 out of 5 stars A Joke   December 4, 2005

Well my title sums it up what a joke, this game makes a laughing stock out of the real gaa fans who have bought this game on the pretence that it is in anyway good.
This game seems like it was made for a pc 10 years ago,the graphics are woeful, the only realistic graphics are the stadiums, the players have no names and dont look anything like the real lads
My advice is go and rent this game and make up your own mind or else there will be a lot of dissapointed people this christmas.
Im really looking forward to "a banana and a cup of tea"

1 out of 5 stars what a load of rubbish   November 28, 2005

the makers of this game have taken the michael out of gaa fans the world over with this pathetic attempt of a game.they have obviously seen an opportunity to make a quick buck by riping off gaa fans the world over.
the game play is like something from 10years ago passes go astray, its impossible to shoot, there is a discernible delay between using your gamepad and the actual action being carried out on the field.while the stadium are realistic the commentary leaves a lot to be desired,no player names are included, you can edit the team names but once a new season starts it has to be done all over again.it also appears an irish county has disappeared, the game states play with all 32 counties plus london and new york, yet for some reason kilkenny is not represented on the game.there are 3 skill levels, junior, intermediate and senior, play at any level above junior and you,re going nowhere eg new york vs armagh at intermediate level and new york win hardly realistic.
all in all a very poor attempt at a game my advice is not to buy this game as its a total waste on money, but if you do dont say you wernt warned.
