this game is one of the best from the catagory and is the most advanced and enjoyable of all the conflict games.
Although not as straight forward to control all the characters, (it is easier in multiplayer as eac person would only have 2 characters to worry about!) but this is good.
There are many ways o do the same thing - e.g. tanks - you could use RPGs, run up to them and place c4 or use an anti-tank mine - all of which are great fun!!
the weapons in this game are not the best, each character starts off with weapons (not of your own choice like tom clancy titles) but there are numerous options and with the easy share buttons you can have any combination of who has what!
The game is actually relatively long with a good story line which gives the game a real purpose!
for all those new to the series i would recommend, even just renting or playing one of other other games first, to understand the characters and make the storyline that bit more understanable. also don't get used to the auto aim on the other games in this series as this one has no auto aim!! it is good!
this game is one of those that you just keep going back to again and again!!
this is my favourite game of all time for the PS2 and would highly recommend it to anyone!!

3 out of 5 stars Addictive and enjoyable but some parts difficult!!   February 17, 2007

I like this game but am starting to get a bit frustrated that some parts are very near impossible!! Also annoying is that there are limited saves per level so sometimes you think you are near the end of the level, use your last save and then find out you have ages to go!! I think I am on the fourth level but not sure as I have been playing for a long time. However a bit frustrated as still only have four men and have to escort a truck and in the meantime shoot lots of enemies and blow up 3 or more tanks!! Why is it so unbalanced? There should not be so many baddies at once!! Give us a chance. I have no problem calling another man but sometimes he gets killed healing me. I only give this 3 overall as although its enjoyable its too difficult in places. The RPG does not always seem to blow up tanks and planting a c4 on a tank is not easy to do without it blowing you up!

great game in the series if youve played the desert 1 & 2 youll love this beware you just have to blow 1 more thing up,kill 1 more bad guy,do 1 more level couldnt turn it off.
Oh yes and its harder than the others they need plenty of bullets before they die and the much smarter than before.Only down side levels are pretty long so dont forget to save mid level as just when you think you've finished 20 more bad guys appear from round the corner.

5 out of 5 stars Great game   November 16, 2006

I've been an avid follower of the Ratchet and Clank games but after Ratchet Gladiator they seemed to run out of ideas for puzzles and just went for the shoot em up approach. Conflict Global storm is great where you have to use tactics and really think about how to split your team up and outflank the enemy. Sometimes I found its better to creep up on a tank and use C4 to blow it up rather than try and hit the sweet spot with an RPG. I agree with other comments that the standard grenades are not very good but the WP grenades more than make up for this and the flashbangs are useful for getting the constantly moving enemy to stand still for a few seconds whilst you shoot them. All in all a great game which I'm still plugging away at.

The thermal imaging is good for sniping and I used this the most. Night vision is good too but a little on the dark side so it tends to be a bit of a play off between night vision and normal vision.
