| Customer Reviews: Skate 3 August 11, 2010 J. Harris (UK) Skate 3 turned out to be all it promised with it's new, huge and fun to play Port Carverton. With 3 different areas (Downtown, University and Industrial) there's plenty of different style environments too; Downtown's full of stairsets, skateparks and a multistory carpark, University being for more flatland skating (with the large exception of the Super-ultra Mega park :P) and Industrial offers numerous opportunities to go huge in the Ship yard and even bigger in the quarry!
The park editor is a nice edition too allowing you to edit and create your own parks from scratch, download and edit someone else's that they've uploaded, or upload your masterpiece.
Skate 3's big letdown is the lack of an offline party play. Social play is large part of the game with some of the story line built around it and so for me, this is the games downfall. That, and the ease of the challenges of career mode and the small amount of time that it took to complete them. Hardcore mode came as a blessing however, allowing more realistic and difficult game play experience.
overall very good! July 23, 2010 C_H_R_I_S_J I love all the new additions to the game especialy the skate.park tool. Very dissapointing that there is no party play as this is something fun to do once the game is complete. I would have thought that EA would build on the local multiplayer aspect of the game for a game based around teams not get rid of it!
Overall very good and worth the money that you would pay on amazon for it.
Skate. 2.5 (?) June 18, 2010 kluster (france) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
here is the fact, Skate 3 is no more than Skate 2.5, that you should know. so if you own skate 2 and you aren't bored of it, don't get skate 3 as it is not a "New game".
but if you love the skate franchise and crave for more kickflips, grinds or any other skate's action, this game is for you.
The new town is quite fun to play in (quite deserted also), the few new features are mostly social ones but still, this is Skate and we love it;)
BEST SKATING GAME OF ALL TIME! May 19, 2010 C. A. Cowley 1 out of 21 found this review helpful
I played the demo and it was awsome, but when i played the full game, well see for yourself.
No Party Play!!! May 14, 2010 S. T. Cross (Lytham, England) 6 out of 11 found this review helpful
1st of all i haven't played through the game yet so im not commenting on the full game, i love Skate and Skate 2, but what i really enjoyed the most was, after completing all the challenges, when you've unlocked everything, you can sit back with your mates and enjoy hours of endless fun on party play! (where you can actually use all the skaters you unlock in the game!)
This game does NOT have a local multiplayer!!!
So for all of the people like me, who enjoys sitting round with their mates, drinking a few beers and smashing skate, i am sad to tell you, it wont be happening on skate 3.
As for other new functions of the game, the park builder is awesome, and the new physics are really cool, so i am really excited about playing through the full game, but I'm sure there will be alot of angry people when they find out theres no party play!
So don't trade in your copy of skate 2 too soon!!
