4 out of 5 stars Decent little game!   October 2, 2008
Mr. D. J. Stewart (Central Scotland)
Okay seriously the bad reviews shouldn't be gone by! This game is a fun, simulation styled track race game. Its track racing for the modified car crews out there.

Basics are I got this way before Juiced 2 HIN so immediately fell in love with its STRANGE gameplay. When I got used to it tho, it rocked! Its more of a simulation, the controls are DIFFERENT, and there's a lot of depth into the game.

Another review moaned that it didn't explain what 'changing the cam settings' did, but engine tinkering is all part of the fun if you want to try it. Just randomly try things out and test drive your car to see if it works for you and if not.. go back to basics!

The best thing for me is the range of old bangers to new beauties you can get, the option to autosculpt the bodykits and paintwork is a lot better than previous NFS games, and the fact they've taken it off the streets and onto the circuits is a fresh change.

They're trying their best to copy Juiced tho, I believe, and by the feel of both games I DO *PREFER* Juiced HIN, but by far this game still gets played too. BOTH very good games, both obviously worth buying. Get in there with both of them. They ARE better on the x360 and PS3 as you get more features and better graphics, then again even better on the PC if you have it powered up with DX10.

But even on the PS2, (yeah I have both for the PS2 and both for the PC) it's decent ammounts of fun.

Don't be shy, give it a try! Under a 5er second hand, seriously!!!!!! Buy it!!!!!!

3 out of 5 stars WHERES FREE ROAM GONE!   June 21, 2008

Im a big fan of NFS i loved carbon and most wanted BUT THIS! prostreet is horrible the cars handleings gone all lumpy and THERES NO FREE ROAM or POLICE PURSUITS has ea been taken over or something! But there are good things like The grafics and the fact that the new bmw m3 and nissan GTR are in it! BUT BUY NEED FOR SPEED CARBON OTHER THAN THIS if yourve played carbon and most wanted you will HATE prostreet

2 out of 5 stars Bring back the old NFS   June 3, 2008
Mathew C. Cleaves
Arguably the second worst NFS game after Underground. EA Bring back the street racing, police chases and FREE ROME. I would normally test a car in single player random race to see if its worth buying- you cannot do this so i wasted about 400k on the Lambo only to find out that it is rubbish!

I only found this game good for the first hour or so then i got frustrated with waited for it to load/save! the actual driving experience is average but you should be able to use a 4 wheel drive in drifting as the evo x is AMAZING at drifting in grip mode.

Get you're act together EA and don't call the next game Pro-street 2 unless you can actually DRIVE on the street!

2 out of 5 stars Well, what a waste   February 28, 2008

I got it for my birthday last november (07) and at first I found it o.k.
i completed the first raceday, but, after that it got worse and worse. The loading screen does get rather annoying after a while and the racing itself isn't that sparkling either.
Final point, the actual career progression as well is too slow, unless u have lots of time. Personally i got to the first main tournament and it took me a week to finish that (battle machine).

in short, get the first 3 NFS and complete them before trying this 1.

1 out of 5 stars Don't bother to buy this game   February 20, 2008

Having played NFSU2, I believed this later version to be just as good if not better. How wrong I was. The realism of the vehicles is appalling, the general interface is appalling, the whole game is downright appalling. There are very few games I would recommend less.

This is by far the WORST driving game I have ever played.

I grew up playing GT2, rocked out of my face at uni, the game that all future driving games are benchmarked against and this games is MOST DEFINITELY A STEP BACKWARDS. It is so fing awful I regret departing money to play it. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
