Best street racing game around. April 15, 2006 snazhork6.0 (Guernsey) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a great game. It has great cars, amzing gameplay, great customization, great graphics and it poses a real challenge. So the cars, there are so many and all costomizable in almost every way you could think of. They are sorted into catagories, SUVs/Trucks, Exotics, Muscle Cars etc. and are then sorted into further catagories of performence, Class D, Class E etc. They all have different performence levels and these can be upgraded in the garage, you can change the engine core, the brakes etc. and can even inject your ride with nitrous to give it a boost of insane speed. The only dissapointment in this catergory is that you cant costomize the inside of your car, bummer. The gameplay is immense. The A.I are acctually a challenge but they are not the sort of drive you nuts cos you can never beat them A.I, they are more of the it is a challenge so that it's not boring A.I. The sense of speed in this game is out of this world, especially when you hit the nitrous and the car handling is so cool, you have to be able to control the car, it's not like it's on rails or anything, also the A.I make mistakes as well so they are not perfect and it adds a sense of realism to the game. New to this game are the special modes, there are three, Zone, Roar and Agro. In zone you slow down time for a few secs to navigate round traffic, or to make sharp corners. In Roar you send out a blast from your engine so that traffic scatters, it has some amusing effects. And finally (and the most fun) Agro. This lets you make your ride indestructible, you can even send trucks and busses flying!! WOW!! But take note each abillity can only be performed in a certain class of vhecle. Another classic part of the game that puts it ahead of the competition is that it is totally open roaming, no confined tracks, B-E-A-utiful. Now the bad bits. The music, it sucks, engough said. And the traffic of the inoccent bystanders goes at about 30 MPH, that sucks. To sum up this is the best street racing game, or maybe even the best racing game out for PS2, only the music and traffic speed let it down, but i would still say buy this game over any need for speed games!!!!!!!!
great but... March 9, 2006 carl bryan (derby, uk) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Firstly, Midnight club 3 is a great game in its own right. The sense of speed is fantastic, multiplayer is competitive and exciting, carrer mode has a balanced difficulty curve and the cars look fantastic. Customisation is (almost) limitless- no other racing game can give more varied customisation options and it will last you for a good while.But...Need for spped Most Wanted is better. It's hard to say why but its simply more fun. Maybe its the presentation and finish, or just simply the racing but I enjoyed 2 days of NFS Most Wanted than I have 4 months of midnight club 3. Don't get me wrong though, MC3 is still great, and for around £20 cheaper, you really can't go wrong. But if I had to choose, I'd go for NFS: MW. Unless of course, it's pimpin' you want. Like I said, MC3 is unrivalled in that area. A great chepo title, but not great enough to be the best.
WOW ! What a game ! June 27, 2005 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
When i came to choosing a new racing game, it was a throw up between this and juiced. After reading other reviews i chose Midnight Club 3, and i know i've definately made the right choice. The sense of speed on this game is awesome, and with a seemingly endless choice of races, this game kept me up all night. You can upgrade your car in almost any way you can think of, from nitro's down to the size of your rims ! The variety of vehicles is huge aswell, with always something new to try. You have loads of different categories of cars with their own individual race groups so you get to try a few ways to race, with either sheer brute force piledriving your way through, to nimble and quick speed zipping in and out of cars! You have 3 cities to race on aswell, and although im still on the first one, it looks very promising. I must have played this game now for like 10hours solid and i've still got tonnes to do, so its definately value for money. There's only the one drawback though with this game, and thats it can at times become a little repetitive as although there are many different courses to race, a lot of them share certain elements, like so far ive jumped off a rollrcoaster 10 times! But in a way there ive just pointed out another great part of the game, the jumps ! Can you imagine jumping off the end of a rollercoaster at 100mph? Let me tell you, you fly !! To sum it all up, BUY THIS GAME, you wont be disappointed !

Well all I can say, that Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition is ace. THE BEST STREET RACING GAME OUT IN THE SHOPS?PROS: loads of cars Great music, from hip hop to rap CONS: all of the special moves are rubbish and make you lose races. Very easy. Well its much better than need 4 speed underground 2. 9/10
Put your foot to the metal April 29, 2005 CjK (UK) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
Firstly i have to admit that i have not played the previous Midnight Club games, i just liked the look of this one. I love driving games and there are many amazing ones out already (Gran Turismo 4, NFSU2, Burnout 3,Enthusia etc.) so what does this one have to offer? Well, the graphics are much better than i expected, obviously not surpassing those of the Gran Turismo series but for a rockstar game the graphics are very good. The reason i say this is because although rockstar create generally good games such as GTA and Red Dead Revolver, the frame rate etc is not fantastic but in this they are. The soundtrack is brilliant ranging from rock to hip-hop, enough to please most. The gameplay is actually suspiciously similar to NFSU2's so who stole from who and does it matter? No, the fact is if you love driving games you should get both, they are similar in many ways such as the free roaming im between races but they are also very different in the setting they are in and there is a broader scope in MC3, you even get to see sunlight where NFS kept us in the dark. Sure enough if you are not a fan of driving then why read this? To give it a try perhaps? well go on then, it is very good. If you are new to the driving genre though this may prove a little bit overwhelming to you as it is very fast and you could find yourself crashing into traffic many times. The competition is tough out there and although this doesnt appear as a top competetor it secretly is but get it before the competition gets better because there are some incredible titles coming up for the end of this year, Burnout 4, NFS: Most Wanted etc. so to fill the time, this is well worth a buy.
