The most perfect game ever. January 7, 2005 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
SSX3 will make you weep.No other game can make you feel so good as this game,it is almost beyond fun. First of all, it is b-e-a-utiful.Ea really have outdone themselves with the slick animation, there is never any slowdown even when you do a 30 minute rundown all the way down the mountain. Read that last sentence again. That's half an hour of pure perfection. It might sound wierd, butbecause ssx3 has such pretty sights, it makes you feel great. At first though, ssx3 is a bitch. Scores seem impossible, and pulling off a trick seems way too hard. Gradually though, you get it. The controls are quite complicated, needing much tweakage of the analogue sticks for mastery. Any different from tricky? Of course. Most importantly ssx3 has gone gta. No, you don't get to shoot people, and no a side option after racing is not sleeping with prostitutes. What i mean is that you don't get dumped at the start of a racetrack anymore. You can choose what you want by riding down the mounatin,on all three peaks, each which are equally huge, and intersecting. Of course, you start of at the mild peak one, where you learn your skills, but then you move on to peak 2 andthings get tough. Expect falling trees, Huge chashms andavalanches. On peak 3 though, whole ice sheets break from underneath your feet and the jumps go scarily high. Oh and then theres freeride if you don't feel likedoing racing, or you could go to the lodge and spent your well earnt money. Oh yeah, you get moeny for winning races now. The fact is ssx3 is a labour of love, it makes you feel so good that its not game its art.
the best ps2 game EVER! November 30, 2004 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
SSX3 is without a doubt one of the best sports games out there! The SSX series just seems to be getting better and better, and this new game is absolutley superb! With new levels, tricks, charactors, peaks and an option of multiplayer- what more could you ask for?! If you are a fan of SSX or in fact any racing game out there, then my advice is to purchase this, as you wont regret it and it's certainly well worth the money! Be warned though, this game can get very very addictive! :) Hayley Hughes- 13 years old!
SSX Continues July 26, 2004 Mr. D. W. Bond (Dartford, Kent, Eng) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
SSX continues to be the best winter sports game ever made with its absolutly supurb series, and it just seens to keep getting better and better, with all the new tricks and the new levels and 3 peaks, this game will last quite a long time with the brilliant multiplayer. With certain levels that have avalanches while you are travelling at a ferocious speed. The way that you do a huge jump and doing super urber tricks and not knowing when or where you are going to land gives a sudden rush of addrenalin for one the best multi-format games around, the gameplay just follows up this great game and the the graphics is like the power of an X-box, quite an ashtonishing expieriance.
Best winter sports game ever coming to platinum July 24, 2004 edward (Devon, England) 4 out of 12 found this review helpful
I've got the original and I loved it. I don't invisage platinum games to be any different to the firt ones so I've got high hopes for this. The boarding is great but a bit unrealistic. If I could pull off tricks like that I'd be amazed. (If I could pull off a trick at all I'd be amazed but thats not the point.) It's visually great and the backdrops are stunning. What didn't get the fifth star for me was that on the hole there wasn't quite enough edictiveness. On the hard levels I give up quickly instead of trying for four hours to try and complete it.
