4 out of 5 stars The graphics needs work   December 2, 2008

To tell you the truth the gameplay is fantastic. You can do alot more stuff on this game then GTA4. i.e. Modifly your cars, they have more clothes stores in the game, do alot more sub mission (Mugging, Stick up etc). You will get rewards for doing the sub mission aswell. You can buy music and create your own playlist to listen whilst you are driving.

On the downside of this game there's alot of glitches. You can be running down the road and half a body could be sticking out from the pavement or from a building. Cars sometimes fly from the road but whilst in mid-air, they go through walls and buliding and blow up from the inside.

OVERALL: It's a great game to play. It will keep you occupied for hours, fantastic storyline and you can do alot more on Saints Row 2 then GTA4. (IF YOU HAVEN'T BROUGHT THIS GAME THEN BUY IT)

i am the aboves partner so i have to use her account as i don't have my own. I felt compelled to write a sort of review about this game after i spent 40 on it! if you were like me, you were slighty disappointed with the new gta, it was a next step up in gta realism but did not have the charm of san andreas, sr2 sort of recaptures the magic of san andreas but thats about it, it hasn't got much substance, i understand the people who give it 5/5 for fun and in a way i agree but this is not a review rather A WARNING for the people willing to gamble on this for a precious 40 quid, don't do it! rent or wait a few months before it comes out in the second hand games shop for cheaper! can't even lace gta's shoes! although i'm finding it lots of fun!!!!!!!!!

SR2 is top game with good detail and game play its a shame it does not have auto lock or that you can't change to much of the controller to suit your self but they are just personal gripes. it is a game that will make you smile and it is clever in what you can do and how to play, lot to do and to see have fun if u get it, if you like GTA u should like this then even with the bugs it still top game, can't wait to see what else it has to offer

this is riddled with issues, you only have to move the right analog stick and the picture tears and jumps, cars will randomly dissapear, pedestrians walk on air, jump into the sea and your greeted with silence and then a few seconds of wierd noise and then more silence, you'll hear cars driving by when the streets are empty, its a shame as this game could have been really good, but its just a poor mans gta

4 out of 5 stars Alternate reality GTA ... without the graphics   October 24, 2008

GTA IV grew a concience and drew the player into questions of morality, justice, retribution and revenge etc. At the same time Rockstar crafted a very realistic world which probably took away a lot of the mindless fun that used to be a GTA trademark, i.e. destroying everything in your path and seeing how long it took the cops to take you down. Saints Row 2 decided on a different route and has retained the moral immunity enjoyed in GTA 3 & VC, which serves to free up the gameplay and provide more fun, thrills and laughs than GTA4.

The similarities between GTA and Saints Row are obvious; almost every element of the game has been lifted in some way from the GTA franchise. However, it is all blended together in a way that gives it a sense of originality.

The only let down to the game is the graphics; when I first started playing I thought I was on a PS2, but after a while my eyes adjusted and it didn't bother me so much.

All in all Saints Row 2 is a great game that offers a lot of fun, action and laughs. If it sorted some glitches out and improved the graphics then it could possibly take the crown currently worn by GTA4.
