4 out of 5 stars An interesting one   July 2, 2008

Ok, I must say first and foremost I am a HUGE geek when it comes to Lost so as soon as I got my PS3, Via Domus was high on my hitlist.

I was initially suprised to find the price so low, especially with me being not really the hardcore gamer-type, but now I realise for it to warrant the 40 price tag, there should really be a whole lot more to it.

From a fan's point of view, this game is a lot of fun and I cannot recommend it enough. The graphics are superb and while you can interact with the well known characters, I feel the others aren't involved. Admitedly, some do get more involved than others, but I would still have liked to have seen more. Especially as characters such as Eko, Rousseau, Ana-Lucia and Libby are not seen at all in the game. Ok, so the characters that are present are voiced poorly, but I don't see it as a major problem, its still a good game. I enhanced my geek-dom by even noticing an error on the game. You go and talk to Sun on the beach, she states that Jin is on the raft seeking rescue (End of Series 1 for show fans) - yet Sawyer is still on the beach (Sawyer goes with Jin, Michael and Walt on the raft...interesting...)

The encounters with smokey are well done (but equally infuriating if a mistake is made) and as I have already mentioned, the visual effects used are superb in HD, particularly on areas epitomised by the show such as the Black Rock.

I have read a few reviews that say that the main character does not use his gun enough and that their is too much of a focus on puzzles. However, in the show it was rare that anyone used guns. Also, in my opinion I reckon it was created as a STRATEGY game.

Overall, a good game, too short however. I hope there is another Lost game. For fans, it's a must to own. For hardcore gamers, try it, finish it in 2 days or so (like I did) and then go and trade it in or sell it.

Everybody wins.

2 out of 5 stars lost! maybe it should be!   May 18, 2008

massive lost fan hence me buying it on release. dissapointed though after just 8 hours of playing because i completed it. fun while it lasted which like i said wasn,t long. just when you thought you were getting somewhere it ended!!!! not good value for money at all.

plus points though are nice graphics, great music, some tricky puzzles, nice gameplay (apart from annoying flashback sequences).

whatever you do, don.t pay a lot for this game.

I was nearly put off by the bad reviews of Lost, but I'm glad I still went for it!! Its really good, can't fault it! Yes it can get tricky in caves but games have to be challenging and you soon get past it.
The game has exceeded my expectations, I enjoy the dialogue between the characters that we know on the screen and my own character. I enjoy the quests. Buy this game espcially if you like Lost as it feels like your making your own Lost Programme!! its very entertaining and ultimately a fantastic game!

This game takes 5 hours to complete so if i were you i wouldnt buy it.
however i rekon its worth a rent.

the gameplay is actually pretty good but there are some bad things, the fuse puzzels get boring quickly and there are to many of them.

I am a huge Lost fan & not much of a gamer, so this is written from a Lost fan's point of view.

The game follows a new character through the same fears & trust issues that the island brings to the original characters of Lost, but adds a new dimension with this character's own flashbacks and encounters. At the end of each chapter, you get the atmospheric sound effect that has become so well known as Lost's 'theme' and the beginning of a new chapter refreshes your memory on the previous happenings both on the island & in the flashbacks in a similar way to the beginning of an episode of Lost. This gives the whole game the feel of watching Lost, but also being involved and making decisions for the character.

Two little things bugged me - Firstly if you die, often you have to go back to the start of the chapter and watch the 'update' and flashbacks again - this can take about a minute each time & is quite boring, especially if you are prone to dying, like I am! Secondly, the game is REALLY short. It took me eight evenings to complete (not played intensely), which compared with Ratchet & Clank or Drakes Fortune is unbelievably short.

That said, I don't regret spending the money on it - it's a fantastic extra dimension to Lost that finishes with a nice twist at the end.
