lets go racing, boys!! June 14, 2008 jlh (london) the first nascar game for next gen-and a very good start, excellent graphics, all three of the major series-including the new COT-great handling and steering, the only minor grumble is that the career mode lacks depth-but a great oval racing game overall!!
Excellent - A must for NASCAR fans December 16, 2007 Andrew (England) What a great game, it is by far the best NASCAR game EA has ever made, the graphics are quality and EA have also finally managed to make the high groove work so you can run up top of down on the bottom of the track. The super speedway races are really fun with two and three wide racing all the way around the track and where the draft makes all the difference where EA havent done this in previous games. What else is good about it is the fact you cant just go charging around the ovals you do have to take your time in traffic and watch out for everyone around and it doesnt pay to smash everyone out of the way because you dont see Jeff Gordon crashing everyone off on the real NASCAR circuit. I have heard alot of people saying that you spin easy, however this isnt the case, you only spin if you turn the corners to hard on the exit but if you do smooth diving then you will never spin and the cars are easy to control even in the big packs of cars at Talladega and Daytona where you can run the middle lane with cars everywhere and still not crash but go foward though the field. The game is a must buy for all NASCAR fans who would really enjoy the game and the racing. The only thing that lets the game down is Montoya on the front of the cover but the actual game is fantastic
Disappointed September 30, 2007 Stuart Collins 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really wanted to like this game.BUT i don't.Don't get me wrong i love NASCAR racing and have owned every other NASCAR game on the ps1 and ps2.The graphics are excellent, however the handling of the cars is what lets this down,on the straightaway the car constantly pulls to the left(unless i had i faulty copy)i thought it may have been my controller but i changed to a spare and it made no difference, also the cars are far to twitchy even the slightest nudge from another car usually sends your car in to the wall. You probaby could improve the handling by changeing the car settings, but who can be bothered altering tire pressures and downforce etc, when you just want to race.
Oh Dear!!! August 19, 2007 R. Cassells (Edinburgh, Scotland) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
What a complete waste of the Royal Mail's time delivering this sorry excuse for a game to my door! Has to be the most expensive coaster around! That's all this game is good for! Believe me. A real opportunity to introduce next gen oval racing to the UK and once again EA fail to deliver! No ammount of fancy licences or pointless "Trax" could turn this into a winner. Avoid at all costs!
WARNING! August 18, 2007 Mr. Daniel Powell (EARTH, SUMWHERE) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
do not i repeat DO NOT by this game unless you loved previous versions, sure the graphics and innovations, like the slip stream and what actually is a very smooth ride with no over/understeer...... but the game is monotonous, dont get me wrong its improved but sooo boring boring boring dull dull dull dull dull ....... like F1 around a roundabout ......... Overall 35% P.S. sorry to all Nascar fans for this review :-)
